All Star Incentive MarketingEmail to a Colleague

This 30-year old incentive company runs a Web-based application called the eChoiceAwards program. There, companies can create a customized awards site with a number of award levels and personalized naming and graphics. The client company receives branded certificates that it can award to employees, sales teams, customers and prospects. The lucky winners go to their company's branded awards site to select products based upon their "star" award levels. Because the choice is theirs, winners receive awards that are both wanted and used -- powerful, incentivizing "thank yous" that will be remembered.

Branders.comEmail to a Colleague

Branders.com specializes in those must-have promotional items for your company - from custom t-shirts and logo coffee mugs to any one of more than a thousand other items that you can plaster your logo on to promote your business. So what makes Branders.com stand out in the incentive crowd? Lower prices, for one... in a recent price survey, Branders prices were 12% lower on average than their competition. Plus, the ordering process is quick, easy and totally handled online. Pick your item, choose the color you want, pick the logo you want to use and presto, you see what the product will look like before it arrives on your desk. You can also track production and delivery times, so you know what you're getting and when it's going to get to you.

CorporateRewards.comEmail to a Colleague

CorporateRewards.com is an incentive provider that specializes in employee incentives, corporate rewards and employee recognition programs. Rewards are issued in the form of GiveAnything.com gift certificates, which can be redeemed for products on their network of e-commerce sites or for gift cards from even more national retailers.

The company has managed incentive programs with as many as 500,000 participants. If you have a small program to manage, try their "Do It Yourself" model. Fund the program with a credit card, use their incentive modules and point participants to the "Spend Your Award" website that you've customized with your branding. A unique feature of this program is that participants can combine their rewards for larger purchases. They are able to check current balances online to see how quickly they are building points for those more expensive desires - quite an incentive.

EPrizeEmail to a Colleague

ePrize, a leading interactive promotions agency, runs online sweepstakes, instant win contests, trivia games, interactive loyalty programs and point-based rewards programs for clients that include 58 of the Fortune 100 companies in America. The company handles all the campaign details for clients, from legalities to planning, technology and digital fulfillment.

For example, at the time of writing one of the featured promotions was a campaign for Harrahs.com, designed to promote the World Series of Poker. Click through to the poker table, and you could enter into the Grand Prize Sweepstakes (a cool $10,000) with every play. For instant gratification, random players won cash prizes of $250, $100 or $50. Sweepstakes such as this one are powerful incentives to keep coming back to your site - which is what ePrize had in mind all along.

Incentive CentralEmail to a Colleague

Incentivecentral.org is a not-for-profit alliance of incentive product manufacturers and associations. The organization was created to provide "objective and thorough information on all aspects of incentive programs and to list all available resources without favoring one commercial entity over another." A wonderful resource, the site has information on industry surveys, interviews with key executives, a library of white papers and extensive case studies and articles on how incentives motivate customers, sales teams, employees and channel partners. You will also find articles on how to measure the success of incentive programs.

A subset of the group, the Online Incentive Council, is comprised of companies that have extensive expertise in the online incentive industry. According to their research, online incentive programs generate greater participation and are more cost-effective than traditional direct marketing programs. Good to know.

PROMO MagazineEmail to a Colleague

This well-organized, easy-to-read and informative trade publication is updated daily online with the latest incentive news stories, articles on promotional campaigns and updates on developments in the regulatory world. The "Key Tactics" section, which is divided into categories such as event marketing, entertainment marketing, games/contests/sweepstakes, etc., is a good resource worth exploration. There you will also find the category of interactive marketing, which features articles of interest to the online marketer. It covers the latest online incentive marketing techniques, offering insights that you won't find anywhere else online. For instance, at the time of writing Doritos was running an integrated campaign that included a text messaging sweepstakes used to drive visitors to the Doritos website for prizes, video and audio clips and games. Check in often to discover the newest applications of technology in the online incentive marketing space.

SalesDriverEmail to a Colleague

SalesDriver gives you access to a highly competitive corporate sales incentive program that can be customized to your needs. This enables sales and marketing managers to concentrate on sales pipelines instead of technical project management. A major benefit to your bottom line is the fact that the program is PPA-based (Pay Per Action) - you only pay the reward fees when your participants reach the objectives that you have established for them.

The company offers two levels of incentive programs: Standard or Corporate Identity. The Corporate Identity program runs on your website and is designed for larger-scale offerings. It includes analytical tools and site-wide branding options. The starting price is $1750 (US) for one program for a one-year run. The Standard program is a self-serve option which you run from the SalesDriver site, and is recommended for programs with less than 50 participants. To build your own incentive program, a 4-step wizard/template tool is provided on the site. You choose the contest type, name it, select the theme, determine what you want to track and measure and how the rewards are structured. Simply add participants and you're off and running.

Spiegel Celebrating 100 Years of StyleEmail to a Colleague

Way back when, before TV and the shopping mall, the Spiegel catalog was a major source of shopping and entertainment. When it arrived, families poured over the pages and made wish lists. Fast forward one hundred years, and you have Spiegel's 100-year heritage celebration. What an incredible incentive marketing opportunity, and the company is making the most of it. The theme is "Celebrating 100 Years of Style", and Spiegel has devoted significant website real estate to the promotion. It is headlined by a $100,000 give-away program. Visit the site and you can register to play the online instant scratch game, with a grand prize of a $10,000 shopping spree. If you aren't a scratch winner, you still get 10% off a Spiegel purchase, and you can play once a week. Talk about a great incentive to come back to the site! The Fabulous Friends contest is also fun and easy to enter. You just have to write one page about a woman friend who has inspired you. The prize is a trip for two to the Big Apple for a luxury day at a spa.

The program was designed by DJA Interactive, creators of the incentive programs for tons of other major players like Cannon, Disney, Pillsbury and UPS, just to name a few.

WebLoyalty.comEmail to a Colleague

WebLoyalty.com offers customized online incentive marketing services to e-commerce, travel and other fee-based businesses. The services are designed to enhance customer loyalty, improve site conversion rates, lower acquisition costs and increase site traffic. For example, their "Thank You" program rewards customers after they've completed an online purchase. Click on the "Thank You" button and receive a trial for one of WebLoyalty's membership programs (such as travel discounts). WebLoyalty picks up the cost of the program and gives the site owner a "bounty" every time a new subscription is generated.

Another program, the "Value Bundle", can be used as a value-add for subscription/membership sign-ups, or it can be branded as one of your regular service offerings. The "Value Bundle" consists of bundled discount and insurance programs in the categories of travel, entertainment and shopping. You can customize value bundles by eliminating options and/or by adding one of your own.
