AdSense Ad PredictorEmail to a Colleague

If you haven't been running the Google AdSense program on your site, but you want to, here is a way to check out the ads (in your choice of ad format) that Google might serve up to your audience. You may be surprised at what Google thinks your site is about. For example, you may get AdWords ads that you don't think are relevant to your site at all or you may get low-paying ads that won't generate much revenue. It all depends on how Google has indexed your site. In any case, this tool may let you know that it's time to re-examine your site content and hone your optimization techniques to give it a stronger focus... before you sign on the dotted AdSense line. PS - If Google hasn't spidered your site yet, AdSense will return public service ads until your site is indexed.

AdSense ChartsEmail to a Colleague

This no-cost tool can be used in addition to Google's standard AdSense report set. The developers created it to offer more detailed, page-level reports to AdSense users than Google currently provides. Simply cut and paste your AdSense data into the box on the home page, and the tool will generate an assortment of reports. Charts include: total earnings, clickthrough rate, earnings per click, number of clicks, earnings per impression, number of page impressions, earnings by day of week and earnings by day of month. Most of the charts include 7-day moving averages which allow you to spot trends within your results.

This no-cost tool is a loss leader for the company's more sophisticated $49.95(US) per month AdSense Tracker reporting tool, which keeps detailed logs of all impressions and clicks on your AdSense ads (without altering the ad code itself) and then serves up reports designed to improve upon the Google AdSense channel reports. AdTracker's real-time reports break down your AdSense clickthrough rates by referrer, by search engine and by search engine keyword(s), deliver clickthrough rates for every page of your website and provide clickthrough rates for all ad formats and color combinations and more.

This diagnostics page links to the AdWords Diagnostic Tool itself (AdWords account required) and also to other helpful pages in the Google AdWords domain. These include the Disapproved Ads tool that shows which of your ads bear the dreaded "disapproved" label, the "Can't See Your Ad?" troubleshooting wizard and the Ad Preview tool. Got a couple reasons why your ad isn't showing up? Google AdWords Keyword Suggestion SandboxEmail to a Colleague

Here's one AdWords tool that you can use even if you aren't an AdWords client. This tool will help you come up with new AdWords keywords, either by generating new keyword combinations you haven't considered or warning you off others because they'll return tons of irrelevant traffic or are being used by everybody else in your market.

Search for keywords two ways: Plug in either the ones you're using now or considering for use, or use your Web site's URL and let the tool pull keywords from your site content. Either way, you'll get a long list of possible keywords, sorted into relevant groups, with a long list of bar-graph options showing search volume and popularity. Find one that looks like a winner? Click to add it when you sign up for AdWords, or download the list into a file for later use.

We ran a test using a personal blog site and found out we've likely been attracting the wrong crowd with the keywords we've been using and will instead plug in some of the suggestions the sandbox returned. Cool and geeky.

Google AdWords Quality ScoreEmail to a Colleague

If you are an AdWords advertiser, you know that Google uses a Quality Score to measure the quality and relevance of your ads. This Quality Score determines your minimum bid for keywords and ad rank for the AdWords auction. Google has opened the velvet curtain that previously made the factors impacting your Quality Score more of a secret than a certain dictator's hiding place. They also share tips and techniques that you can use to improve your Quality Score. BTW, your score is determined by your keyword clickthrough rates on Google, the relevance of your ad text, keywords and landing pages and the historical performance of your AdWords account. The higher your Quality Score, the less you will pay for each keyword and the better you will rank, so it's in your best interest to get moving and improving.
