SenderID/SPF/Domain Keys Test ServerEmail to a Colleague

SenderID and DomainKeys were developed to prevent email address forgery and to identify sp@m, worms and viruses. This server allows you to check the format of any DomainKey, SenderID or SPF records published by your domain and to see the result of these authentication checks on any message you send to it. To use this service, you send an email to the email address provided at the site. Once you have sent your message, click "View Sample" to see your results. Hold on to your propeller cap - this is a very in depth analysis tool of your email header and mail server information. The results show 50 lines of things like the Purported Responsible Address (PRA) of your message and the SPF Record you have published for the MAIL FROM domain. You may just want to forward these results to your IT department. ;) At the site you will also find links to resources where you can learn more about these email authentication methods.

Sp@mAssassinEmail to a Colleague

Sp@mAssassin is an email filtering software which uses a diverse range of tests to identify unsolicited email, more commonly known as sp@m. These tests are applied to email headers and content to classify them, using advanced statistical methods. Other factors are also considered, including Bayesian filtering, DNS blocklists and the like. The result of the tests is a sp@m score for each email, and the total score determines whether or not an individual email gets through to the recipient. Because it is a good, open-source filter, it is widely used by many ISPs and other email providers as the backbone of their sp@m filtering systems. It's a good idea to get to know Sp@mAssassin and how it works. Here is where you can find out.

SpamexEmail to a Colleague

It's unanimous; we all hate spam. The nastiest side effect of signing up for email lists and filling out forms is potential misuse of that email address. Spamex allows the user to create disposable email addresses. When surfing, Spamex appears as a link in the tool bar. When signing up for a newsletter or entering a sweepstakes, just create a disposable Spamex address. The email sent to that disposable address will be forwarded to your "real" email address. Once the disposable address serves its purpose, just turn it off. You can figure out just how much spam is costing your company with the handy Spam Cost Calculator. Personal accounts are free; contact the company for enterprise pricing.

Trusted SourceEmail to a Colleague

A big part of email marketing is getting your messages delivered. A big part of getting your messages delivered is your so-called reputation. At this site, you can check the reputation and activity of any domain name or IP address. The instant results include message volume, the number of unique IPs sending email during the last 30 days and IP addresses in this domain sending substantial amounts of email. How? TrustedSource receives and analyzes billions of messages per month. Like a virtual credit agency, TrustedSource assigns a reputation score and further classifies senders as good, bad or suspicious based on an in-depth analysis by processing more than a dozen behavior attributes to profile each sender. TrustedSource was one of the first reputation systems to combine traffic data, whitelists, blacklists and network characteristics to arrive at a "reputation" that extends beyond a straightforward sp@m score. Learn more about the concept of online reputation by downloading the complimentary white paper available at the site entitled "Trusted Source: Reputation Redefined". And remember - at this site, not only can you check the stats on your own domain, you can check your competitors' reputation, statistics, message volume and sending patterns over the past few weeks as well.
